Mindspark is an ed-tech platform that gives school students personalized, adaptive learning paths — lessons that adjust based on how each student is progressing. I redesigned the platform's interface to make it easier to use for both students and the parents managing their subscriptions, across phones, tablets, and desktop.

The challenge

Mindspark supported two distinct user groups simultaneously: children seeking an intuitive, engaging experience for daily use, and parents requiring a quick, straightforward method to buy plans and monitor progress. The original interface appeared outdated, and the purchase process was cumbersome. Because the majority of users accessed the platform via tablets and phones, the redesign needed to prioritise mobile-first design rather than treating mobile as an afterthought.

The process

I started by auditing the existing interface and reviewing user feedback to identify exactly where people were getting stuck. From there, I rebuilt the UI framework around clear navigation and obvious calls-to-action, added custom illustrations to make lessons feel more engaging for kids, and simplified the purchase flow — cutting steps so parents could subscribe and manage plans with less confusion.

The outcome

The simplified purchase flow led to higher enrollment, and the responsive rebuild held up cleanly across the devices families actually used. Feedback also pointed to the cleaner navigation and illustrations making the platform feel noticeably more engaging day-to-day.
