Memecake
Designing a Social NFT Multi-Chain Marketplace
Memecake is a social NFT marketplace spanning multiple blockchains — built for people who wanted their digital collectibles to feel personal, not just transactional. My job was making that feel as fun and fluid as the platform itself, across both a light and dark experience.
The challenge
2022 was a crowded year for NFT platforms — Magic Eden, Rarible, OpenSea, Foundation were all fighting for the same attention. Memecake needed to stand out without losing usability. That meant two things had to work in parallel: a responsive design that held up across every device, and a dark/light theme system where neither mode felt like an afterthought. Getting contrast and legibility right in both was non-negotiable.
The process
I partnered with a UX specialist on wireframes first — getting the structure and flow right before touching visual style. From there, the focus shifted to layouts that stayed true to brand while flexing across breakpoints. Iconography was built specifically to guide navigation quietly, without competing for attention. Every theme transition was designed to feel smooth, not like flipping a switch.

The outcome
The response was immediate — users consistently called out how intuitive the navigation felt, and the responsive system held its shape across web and mobile without compromise. More than functionality, though, it gave Memecake something rarer in a saturated NFT market: a visual identity that was unmistakably its own.
Testimonial
Working with Arun Jolly was a game-changer. Their ability to turn our technical vision into a user-friendly experience helped us connect with customers like never before. The dashboard and branding are now core to our identity.
